The Lone Oak Cottage

Enjoy the comforts of Lone Oak Cottage, located in the heart of the historical cobblestone resort town of Medicine Park. Take pleasure in the beautiful view of Medicine Park Creek and the surrounding mountains from comfortable rockers on the wraparound, screened-in porch. This boutique-style cottage has the right amount of charm and conveniences for a relaxing, perfect getaway. 

Upon arrival, guests will enjoy complimentary snacks, coffee, soft drinks and bottled water, plus the comforts of a claw foot tub and a fully equipped kitchen. The Lone Oak Cottage features a queen-size bed and a daybed for comfortable sleeping, as well as a TV, drop-leaf dining table and individual climate control. The kitchen is full equipped with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The pass-through window from the kitchen to the porch allows for fun, scenic and convenient dining at the two tables situated on the large porch.  

The cottage is just steps away from the historical Curtis Davis Walking Bridge which takes you to the center of Medicine Park where you'll find fishing, swimming, a variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment. This historical community has become a favorite for many visitors who come to participate in and enjoy the many annual events and festivals held here.  These events include classic car shows, music festivals, an annual polar bear plunge, the Park Tavern raft race, the Mayor's Blues Ball, the Red Dirt Ball and annual Christmas lighting.  

While staying at Lone Oak Cottage, enjoy excellent fishing opportunities only a few minutes away in the lakes of the Wichitas, or find your way down the road to Medicine Park Creek, stocked with trout in the fall and winter. The entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is only two miles away.  Enter the refuge and enjoy a scenic drive to see buffalo, longhorn cattle, elk, deer, prairie dog towns and wild turkeys. Explore the 60,000 acres of the refuge and enjoy sweeping views of the area from the summit of Mount Scott. This area is the perfect vacation spot for swimming, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing and relaxing.
