Home to prominent Nowata resident J. Wood Glass and Eva Payne Glass in Oklahoma's early days, this turn-of-the-century, four story mansion is filled with the original antiques and is as it was at the death of Mrs. Glass at the age of 101. See life reflected in different aspects from Oklahoma's Territory era to the present as you browse through the Glass Mansion's many rooms. 

Signs of the town's original hospital are still visible in various places throughout the building. In addition to exhibits inside, there is a display of early oil field equipment and one of the original jail cells on the grounds south of the museum. The large bell standing in the frame by the entrance is the original fire bell that used to hang in the second story tower of the fire station next door.

Nowata's Historical Society decorates the Glass Mansion for Christmas each year and hosts an open house. The home and grounds are also available for special occasions including weddings, anniversaries, meetings, parties and dinners. Call for reservations.
