Shawnee Twin Lakes

Enjoy the serene waters of Shawnee Twin Lakes, two municipally-owned lakes operated by the city of Shawnee. Come to Shawnee Twin Lakes to enjoy a variety of water recreation including fishing, swimming, water skiing and fun times on personal watercraft. These two lakes are connected by at 10-ft deep canal constructed in 1962. Amenities available at Shawnee Twin Lakes include boat ramps, boat docks, a fishing dock, tent campsites, picnic areas, grills, restrooms, a playground and pavilion.

Lake #1, built in 1935, offers 1,336 surface acres and 16 miles of shoreline, while Lake #2, which was constructed in 1960, offers 1,100 surface acres and nine miles of shoreline. Cast your line for bass, crappie, sandbass or channel catfish and enjoy the fully enclosed fishing dock that provides all-weather fishing. Make your way to Isaac Walton Park, situated along Lake #1, for a pavilion, campsites and picnic areas. The Glen Collins Park, located between the two dams, features a pavilion, restrooms, picnic areas and parking. In addition, the land that surrounds Shawnee Twin Lakes serves as a wildlife refuge. Fees for boating, camping or fishing are available at the headquarters office, located on-site.
