Shawnee Twin Lakes

Add to plan Remove from plan

Enjoy the serene waters of Shawnee Twin Lakes, two municipally-owned lakes operated by the city. Visitors can engage in a variety of water recreation including fishing, swimming, water skiing and fun times on personal watercraft. These two lakes are connected at a 10-ft deep canal constructed in 1962.

Built in 1935, Lake #1 offers 1,336 surface acres and 16 miles of shoreline. Lake #2, which was constructed in 1960, offers 1,100 surface acres and nine miles of shoreline. Cast your line for bass, crappie, sandbass or channel catfish and enjoy the fully enclosed fishing dock providing all-weather fishing.

Isaac Walton Park at Lake #1 includes a pavilion, campsites and picnic areas. Glen Collins Park at Lake #2 features a pavilion, restrooms, picnic areas and parking. In addition, the land surrounding Shawnee Twin Lakes serves as a wildlife refuge. Fees for boating, camping and fishing are available online and at the headquarters office onsite.
