In the early 2000s, Austin-based artist Billy Brakhage, of “Greetings from Austin” postcard mural fame, resided in Collinsville, Oklahoma. While working as a full-time screen printer in the Oklahoma town, local business owners invited Brakhage to paint murals along downtown buildings. This “Saturday Evening Post” mural came to fruition after the Main Street revitalization committee came across the “Dusk Till Dawn” murals on Main Street. After viewing the “Sun Fisher” Lee's jeans advertisement Brakhage painted on the Bayouth Insurance building, the Main Street revitalization committee approached Brakhage and made this “Saturday Evening Post” mural a reality.
