The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City's Adventure District features an internationally-renowned collection of Western art and artifacts. The town stretches from an industrial section with a railroad depot, livery stable and blacksmith shop, to a residential section with homes, a church and a one-room schoolhouse.

The museum also hosts annual events like the popular Chuck Wagon Gathering & Children's Cowboy Festival or the prestigious Prix de West exhibition, an invitational art exhibit of over 250 Western paintings and sculptures by contemporary Western artists. The star-studded Western Heritage Awards honors hall of fame inductees and the year's best in literature, music, film and TV every April.
