Experience an important piece of Oklahoma history at the Krebs Heritage Museum. Located east of McAlester, Krebs began as a coal mining town in the early 1900s and transformed into "Oklahoma's Little Italy." Learn details about the history of Italian immigrants and Native Americans that developed the area with exhibits, displays and collections at this museum.

Reflecting Krebs' mining town beginnings, the museum features exhibits of early coal mining equipment, an extensive collection of military equipment as well as a rare collection of brass band instruments. The museum also holds a collection of over 30 local family histories and portraits on display. Take an afternoon to look closely at these fascinating artifacts and appreciate a unique Oklahoma town.
