Founded in the early 1900s, Davenport's history is as varied as it is interesting. It served as the site of a brick manufacturing facility, a Works Progress Administration site and the Kenton Gold Mine Cave. Each year the town celebrates local and national holidays including Nettie Davenport Day and Christmas with a parade and festival.
