Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center

A primary goal of the Citizen Potawatomi Museum is to preserve and interpret artifacts relevant to indigenous Great Lakes cultures with an emphasis on the Anishinabe Potawatomi. The museum also seeks to facilitate an understanding of history, heritage, values, art, philosophy, crafts, medicines, societal structure and language -- but not merely in an historical sense. The Citizen Potawatomi are living, dynamic people with a bright future. The museum emphasizes the direct connection between ancestors and the Citizen Potawatomi people of today. The theme, therefore, is not 'Who We Were,' but 'Who We Are.'

The Citizen Potawatomi Museum also features the nation's museum research library, archives, family research center, veteran's wall of honor, tribal heritage project and long room events center. The Firelake Gift Shop is also located inside the museum, offering unique Native American made jewelry, ceremonial items, traditional native attire, a vast array of Pendleton blankets, jackets, clothing, bags and more.
