Shawnee's city beautification committee commissioned Palmer Studios Inc. to create a mural at Celebration of Life Park on Main St. Sit down on a wooden park bench or walk through the park and gazebo as you gaze at the Benson Park Mural.

As you view the mural in Shawnee, imagine the 1907 Benson Park in its original form, with Shawnee residents taking a lap in the amusement park's swimming pool. In the early 1900s, couples could skate in the rink, ride a roller coaster or bring a picnic lunch. As depicted in the mural, Benson Park was a prime gathering space for Shawnee residents.
